Excellent value traditional hotel in old historic centre of Cartagena

Excellent value, centrally located hotel in the historic old town of Cartagena. The room was good with a very comfy bed, breakfasts were served in the nice central courtyard. Many similar hotels in the old town of Cartagena are significantly more expensive and Hotel Puertas de Cartagena has to be one of the best value options in the old town

Staff were friendly, room was cosy and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location opposite a little tienda with amazing food! will definitely be back and staying again!

Room was dirty.

Room was dirty. Paint falling off the walls onto clothes. No good place to store clothes. The room was too small for the bed size. Horrible noise from construction across the hall all day long.

I have been to Cartagena 8 times and always stay in Boca...

I have been to Cartagena 8 times and always stay in Boca grande( that’s where you find Hilton, capilla Del Mar etc). This time I wanted to sarta in Ciudad amurallada. This hotel was right there. It’s a old big house turned into a hotel. Please remember this, if you are looking for luxury hotel maybe 5 star or even 3 star this is not the place. If you are looking to stay at a place that has history and only luxury is A/C. This is the place. I really liked it and would stay here again. The staff was friendly, breakfast was good, room was clean and the main reason I stayed there was because of the location. I would walk everywhere and it was very safe.

Only had A/C in the room and the water pressure was weak.

The location , the staff was so nice except for one girl whovwelcomecand did the check out She didn’t said how was the hotel or thanks . We really went very uoset . Because every night the guy who was there welcome us with the name etc Also the same the lady who serve the breakfast!!!

Excellent location in the historic center, with a lot of...

Excellent location in the historic center, with a lot of restaurants, shops, parks... It's a small one level simple hotel with a beautiful courtyard. WiFi worked fine in our room. AC! Good breakfast. Very secure: the gates are always locked, a receptionist is there 24 hours.

We had a room with 3 single beds. There were no furniture, only beds, no hooks in the room, and not much space to place 3 suitcases, or walk around beds. The room was dark, no windows. One bed was old, unstable and almost fell apart. A small refrigerator was very helpful.

A little gem in the old town

The location, the fact that it is small and you get the personal touch. Breakfast is perfect in the little garden courtyard. This hotel was excellent value and was our second stay.

Nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Overall, a great stay with a lovely staff.

Breakfast was delicious and consistent!

Room could use a few touch-ups, such as extra hooks for hanging bags/clothes, and furniture to place a bag/suitcase on.
